Common Wedding Catering Questions
Planning wedding catering usually comes with a mix of ideas and questions.
Some couples are focused on the style of food, others are thinking about timings, service or how everything fits together across the day. Most are working through a bit of everything at once.
That’s where these FAQs come in. Clear answers to the things couples ask us most often, so you have a better idea of how it all works and what to expect.
Where does your food come from?
Where possible, our produce is sourced from suppliers we know and trust, with a focus on quality and seasonality.
At certain times of year some ingredients may not be available, but the aim is always to keep the food consistent and well considered.
What kind of wedding catering do you specialise in?
We create imaginative, bespoke menus and keep a close eye on how wedding food is evolving. Recent menus have included tiramisu towers and Italian-style cakes, alongside more traditional formats.
We cater across the full day and often the full weekend. That includes canapés, food stations, wedding breakfasts, desserts and evening food, as well as welcome evenings, grazing tables, BBQs and brunch.
Can we create a bespoke wedding menu with you?
Yes, we have some couples who come with a clear idea, and others prefer to start with a menu and shape it from there. We offer both.
Our wedding menu gives you a strong starting point, and we can adapt or build something more bespoke around it.
Will you provide waiting staff?
Yes, we can provide experienced staff to serve both food and drinks. We’ll talk you through what’s needed based on your plans and include this within your quotation.
Can you cater for children and dietary requirements?
Yes to both. We regularly cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and allergies, making sure all guests can enjoy a safe and well-considered meal. Children’s menus can also be provided where needed.
For more complex dietary needs, we may offer a chef’s choice dish to ensure everything is prepared with the appropriate care. In some cases, an additional supplement may apply to reflect the extra attention required.
Do you charge per head or a set fee?
Most weddings are priced per head, depending on the menu and style of service.
As a guide, catering typically ranges from £60 to £120+ per guest.
What is your average cost per head?
Most couples typically spend around £80 per guest (excl. 20% VAT), depending on menu choices and how the day is structured.
For full-day catering, including evening food, this can be closer to £100+ per guest (excl. VAT). We’ll always tailor this to your plans and provide clear pricing from the start.
How much deposit is required to secure our date?
A 25% non-refundable deposit (excluding VAT) is required within seven days of booking confirmation to secure your date. The remaining balance is due one month before the event.
If final guest numbers fall below 90% of the original estimate, charges may be based on 90% of that number.
Do you charge for travel to our venue?
Yes, travel is charged per mile per vehicle to cover transport and staffing. This is always discussed and agreed upon during the booking process.
Are you responsible for rubbish removal?
We will dispose of rubbish on site wherever possible. If this isn’t available at your venue, a disposal fee per black bin liner will be charged after the event.
Can you provide linen and furniture?
We can provide linen and quote for this as part of your catering.
While we don’t supply furniture directly, we’re always happy to recommend trusted suppliers and help guide you on what will work best for your event.
How long have you been catering weddings?
We’ve been catering weddings for over 10 years, working across venues, marquees and private settings throughout the UK, from Scotland down to London and the Cotswolds.
The team includes experienced chefs and coordinators who know how to run a wedding day properly. Many have worked in kitchens and events around the world, so they bring a level of confidence and consistency that makes a real difference on the day.
Over the years we’ve catered for a wide mix of clients, from private weddings through to larger private events and well-known names including Tom Jones and Paloma Faith.
Alongside more traditional wedding catering, we’ve also developed a few of our own setups including Annie the Airstream, Boris the BBQ, Priscilla’s pizza and Bruno the coffee bar, giving couples a bit more flexibility in how the food is served across their day.
Do you offer wedding tasting sessions?
Yes, our wedding tasting sessions take place at our restaurant, Paisley at 106, 106 Minster Road, Stourport-on-Severn. It’s a chance to try your menu and refine the details before the day.
Can we see your wedding menu?
Of course. Get in touch, and we’ll send over our wedding menu along with a few ideas to help get you started.
A Bit About Us…
Paisley Flour was founded in 2011, but the story starts a little earlier.
Emma began her culinary journey in 2001 and qualified as a chef in 2003. Early experience included working in a luxury ski chalet and later on a yacht travelling through the Mediterranean, building a strong foundation in both food and service.
That experience still shapes how things are done today. A focus on good food, well prepared, and a team that knows how to deliver it properly.
Since then, the business has grown into a team of chefs, coordinators and front of house staff who care about getting the details right and making sure each wedding runs as it should.
